Airline Infobox[edit]

I've removed the airline infobox page, as this is not an airline page - it is about the merger. The recent removal of the NWA hubs from the infobox illustrates the problem here, in that we have no info on what the merged airlines hubs will be. It makes sense to me that Delta would retain some of NWA's hubs, if they are in good locations to service the merged airlines combined routes. As new info is realeased, and assuming the merger is actually completed (not a given), then the [[[edit]Delta Air Lines]] aritcle will be updated with the new info. At this point, I'm not convinced we really need this page at all, as most of the info could be covered on the two airline pages. The statements can easily be linked to the company sites, with 1 or 2 lines quoted in the respective articles. - BillCJ (talk) 04:21, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This action was taken due to lack of confirmation and consensus. Basketball110 My story/Tell me yours 04:52, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Uh, the infobox was originally added here by an IP user without any discussion several days (weeks?) after the article was created. I therefore reverted to the original form of the article, as I felt no discussion was needed to revert an IP's actions. - BillCJ (talk) 05:29, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Per WP:BITE, I'd avoid the assumption that "IP user" equals "vandal" or "misguided" or even "malicious" Please factor that out of your observations in the future. The rest of your point is valid, however. It's a bit like saying "that (insert ethnic slur here) cashier of mine hasn't shown up in a week. He's fired!" It's completely irrelevant about his ethnicity. His behavior is enough. --Randal L. Schwartz (talk) 09:28, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • But it's OK to bite the "oldcomers"? Interesting. - BillCJ (talk) 17:21, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Is it "bite" when it's accurate? And yes, I agree the right action was taken. I just question the description of the motivation. --Randal L. Schwartz (talk) 22:15, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
And I question your description of my motivation. I did not say or mean what you are attributing to me. I nver used the3 words "vandal" or "misguided" or even "malicious", nor did I imply those words. I was simply stating, briefly, why I felt it unnecessary to discuss rather than remove the infobox. - BillCJ (talk) 22:26, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Fine. Next time you say that, leave "IP User" out of your description then, as it is completely irrelevant, as it would have been the same actions had it been a named user. --Randal L. Schwartz (talk) 02:07, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think this thread has gone on long enough. You can parse my comments above all you want, but I'm moving on. - BillCJ (talk) 03:34, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Just have to agree with the removal of the airline infobox it is not relevant to an article on a merger. Not sure this article is really needed either it just a place to put the various press releases which could be externally linked and discussed in the DAL and NWA articles. Merge with Delta Air Lines[edit]

Since this article is so short and clearly in need of attention, I suggest it be merged with the Delta Air Lines article rather than let it sit here, months out of date. --Resplendent (talk) 03:28, 7 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Concur. - BillCJ (talk) 09:58, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Merger as early as 2007?[edit]

What is the difference between had been reported as early as January 2008 that Delta and Northwest were in merger discussions and that Richard Anderson became CEO of Delta Air Lines when the merger took place in 2007? Because was a reason for Delta's new livery in 2007 its merger with Northwest? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Clrichey (talkcontribs) 22:21, 4 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
