What is the flag to the right of USA flag is?--66.229.26.39 (talk) 01:10, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Flag of the 42nd Infantry Division (United States). The smaller flag is probably the company guidon and the larger flag the divisional standard. Since Esposito's and Allen's company was the divisional headquarters company, that's probably why the guidon design is the same as the divisional flag. Cla68 (talk) 02:26, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Rename article?[edit]

This seems oddly named and would be difficult for most readers trying to find out about the incident, unless they remembered the victims' specific, full names. The article on the other fragging incident in the Iraq War is called the Hasan Akbar case; perhaps this article should have a similar name. Martinez was prosecuted in a legal case and court martial, although he was not convicted.Parkwells (talk) 18:34, 15 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that the article should be renamed, and also agree that the case name (United States v. Staff Sergeant Alberto B. Martinez) would be the appropriate name.

One consideration though is goolge has already indexed the article under the current heading, so if there is a change, it should probably include a clear redirect. Nvr4get (talk) 20:36, 12 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Edits to "Acquittal and honorable discharge" and "Post-Acquittal" sections[edit]

These sections needed some work. Thier sequencing wasn't logical and Barbara Allen, one of the subjects of the article, had added her own edits regarding her quest to have the Army award her late husband the Purple Heart.

Suffice it to say editing an article about you is generally frowned upon. I tightened up the language and reestablished a NPOV.

I also fixed some (but not all) of the cites, particularly to Siobhan Esposito's (the widow of one of the victim's) blog. These links were only to a url, and did not contain further info.

I think I got the article back in the ballpark. If I didn't, please have at it. Nvr4get (talk) 06:08, 25 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
