The size of Deane[edit]

The population of the parish, as taken from The Office for National Statistics' own website was 183 in 2001 and 202 in 2011. This is contary to the figure given in Wikipedia.

Apparently Deane was chosen to accompany Basingstoke in the name of the Borough so that the largest and the smallest settlement would be included. Therefore it was a surprise to see that Deane had a population of over 5,000 in 2001.
