proposed synopsis[edit]

I found the extant synopsis to be overly specific in some places and overly vague in others. It also contains gross inaccuracies, e.g. there is nothing in the movie that proves that the Nord character is "a famous mountain climber." He is a CEO and a sports enthusiast. I have seen this movie many dozens of times. I own the DVD. Here is my proposed synopsis. If anybody has the gonads to paste it over to the main page, go ahead. If not, I may myself.

Daylight is a story about an explosion in a New York City tunnel, and the ensuing escape of some survivors. A carful of diamond thieves madly rushes through the tunnel to avoid the police. The driver loses control and crashes into a trio of trucks illegally carrying toxic and explosive chemical waste. The resulting explosion seals shut both ends of the below-water tunnel, and poisons the remaining air. Kit Latura (Sylvester Stallone), a former chief of the NYC Emergency Medical Service, decides that he might rescue the survivors by entering the tunnel through a ventilation shaft. He descends harrowingly through the shaft and its fans into the tunnel but is unable to provide the survivors with a way out, as the fans cannot be shut down a second time. Things get worse: part of the ceiling collapses and Kit has to create another smaller explosion to keep the water from coming in. This helps, but, "I only slowed it down, nothing can stop it." They need more, and George (Stan Shaw), a tunnel cop, gives them a clue as to where some dry ground might be. They find it, but it doesn't stay dry for long. However, they find yet another passage to a room which has an exit that leads to a grate in the floor of a garage (which is evidently located at the end of a pier). Everybody still alive at this point makes it to daylight except for Kit and Madelyne (Amy Brenneman), who have missed their chance. Kit and Madelyne swim to the roof of the tunnel. Kit sets an explosion that, he hopes, will cause a "blowout," and it works. They both are driven through the roof of the tunnel, through the riverbed, to the surface, where they are immediately rescued.

No Safe Haven, High Roller??[edit]

What do the un-produced/un-released movies about what did not take place before the development of this movie have to do with the article? They read more like trivia in a subsection of Stallone's career. 72.174.131.123 (talk) 05:10, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
