Explanation of Move[edit]

As Geoswan noted, this name is more commonly used. In addition, the only sources that call it Archi is from 2002- the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development and AIMS (district profile and map). Aims switched over to using Dasht-e-Archi or one of its many spelling variants by 2006,^[1] and the MRRD moved to Dashti Archi at some point, at least by 2010,^[2] with continued mention as "Dasht Archi" or "Dashti Archi".^[3]^[4] See my google search for more examples from the MRRD.

On top of that, the Central Statistics Organization in Afghanistan (the authority on stuff like this) now lists it as Dashti Archi District.^[5]

"Archi District" is an outdated name that was only used in the 329 AIMS district set.^[6] The 329 district set is no longer used. Moved to Dashti Archi per WP:COMMONNAME, to be consistent with the 399 district set we list at Districts of Afghanistan (or mostly list there, at least), for recognizability, and naturalness (WP:CRITERIA).
