Proposed merge with Darracq Motor Engineering Company[edit]

Darracq Motor Engineering Company seems like an unnecessary stub, and would serve a better use as part of Darracq and Company London. lovkal (talk) 14:33, 25 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it would at first seem that way but it is part of a solution to a continuing cross-channel problem, the perceived ownership or nationality of the manufacturer of Darracq, Talbot, Sunbeam and Sunbeam-Talbot cars. Readers must understand there is a difference between Darracq and Company London owner of Darracq Paris (and other things) which was a major holding company and Darracq Motor Engineering which was a subsidiary of Darracq and Company and was principally a coachbuilder but also their vehicle to hold the minority interest in Darracq Paris later known as Talbot. Believe me the situation confuses anyone who is not prepared to settle down and work it all out with the correct knowledge (very hard to find but in the process of being detailed in Wikipedia) and a large piece of paper with room for lots of diagrams (in course of construction by the writer it will later appear on all related pages).
So, yes I can see how it may look but wait a while and you will see why it is necessary. Only way to make sense of the whole bunch of businesses is to be very specific. Please just wait a few months then review the bunch of articles and then develop a fresh opinion once all is laid out before you. Who knows, you may still think the same way.
