Dubious[edit]

Dany Chamoun .. was known for his opposition to the occupation of Lebanese territory by foreign forces, whether Syrian or Israeli.

I am tempted to adjust or delete the text as ingenuous and misleading. While it is true that the Chamoun family enjoy putting themselves forward as Lebanese patriots dedicated to the eradication of foreign influences, this claim needs to be judged in light of the following facts:

1. It was Chamoun père who invited the Syrians in the first place.
2. The Chamoun's free vented anger at the Israelis, not for the invasion of Lebanon, but because of their refusal to stay.
3. The elder Chamoun's acting to call in US American marines.
4. The Chamoun's consistent efforts to bolster their position by auditioning for the role of proxies for the British, French, Americans, and whoever else they think might be willing to oblige. The Chamoun's public expression of annoyance when these parties react with sceptism.

I fail to see your point. You mentioned 4 reasons related to Camille Chamoun, and the article is not even about him.
May I remind you that:
1. Dany Chamoun is not the same as Camille Chamoun
2. Stereotyping the Chamoun family (or any other family) does not say anything about one member of the family
