danko isn't really just a black canadian. he's also indian, and partly european.

Well, that makes him multiracial; a multiracial person who's part black can still be legitimately described as black. Bearcat 10:50, 24 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
By that logic, couldn't a multiracial person who's part white be called white too? MacMoney 19:37, 16 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Don't look at Danko Jones, look at a helicopter!

Genre[edit]

Is their genre just hard rock? I know nothing about the band but it seems like they are associated with many heavy metal acts and have played with many heavy metal acts. They've additionally played at a lot of different heavy metal festivals and guested on heavy metal albums. Just wondering. Blizzard Beast $ODIN$ 19:01, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You could describe Danko Jones as hard rock or indie rock. From what I hear, they are 10X better on stage. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.110.242.87 (talk) 00:41, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

One of their genres is Blues-Rock here, and I can't see why. I will delete it for now, and if someone can give a source/song(s) that proves me wrong please do that. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.152.99.31 (talk) 13:45, 31 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

An Honours Section[edit]

I think a section for honours is necessary. It helps in quickly identifying noteability. When there is such a list, the article must talk about the items in the list. It is not redundant to have it. Argolin (talk) 23:35, 25 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You have a point. We'll leave it at that. Lyckankommer (talkcontribs) 12:29, 26 April 2010

John Calabrese merge here?[edit]

A new article has been created for John Calabrese, but there's nothing in that article yet about his notability for work outside of that band. Is he also notable for his solo projects, or for his work in other bands? Thanks, Filing Flunky (talk) 08:45, 23 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Split discography to Danko Jones discography[edit]

Split - Discography is long compared to the remainder of the article and should be split off. Thoughts? --Jax 0677 (talk) 19:09, 28 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Seems sensible, why not be bold and do it? GiantSnowman 14:25, 29 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Reply - I like to allow a full calendar month (i.e. November 1-30) to pass before deleting information that is already in the article (7 total days if I put it in there myself). This allows for the possibility of a meaningful discussion to take place. --Jax 0677 (talk) 17:47, 29 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It probably should be, if it includes records of note. There is a precedent if you look at pages like {{Living Colour]] and others. I'm not sure if the videography should be part of it - unless there is a collection of the band's videos on DVD. But I guess you plan to tidy it up before you transfer it?Karst (talk) 21:10, 29 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Help?[edit]

Hi there

I tried to remove the link to "John Calabrese" in the "Members" section, because it just redirects back here. When I did that, though, the "Timeline" graphic suddenly had a bunch of black lines all over it, so I undid my change.

I think figuring this out is beyond my expertise.

Supposed Twitter controversy[edit]

I removed the following from the article:

"On May 11th 2021 Danko Jones received heat for doxxing an Ani Jewish Rabbi for disagreeing with the bands stance on the Covid 19 vaccine. [1]"

The source given was just Danko Jones' Twitter feed and had no evidence for the claim. The closest was a short spat with another Twitter user about statements that Metallica frontman James Hatfield made about COVID vaccines. Looking at that other user's profile page, he may well happen to be Jewish, but that didn't seem to have any bearing on the exchange between him and the band's account, and I could't see any evidence of doxxing or the band getting any "heat" for anything. Unless there is a reliable source that can corroborate the above claim, it seems to me as if someone is trying to blow a typical Twitter disagreement way out of proportion. --Baumi (talk) 14:38, 8 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
