The Twin JN may not have gotten the "O/OA" identifier, but it was rated an observation aircraft... Cat as such, no? Trekphiler (talk) 20:31, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It is in the appropriate cat for an observation aircraft Category:United States military reconnaissance aircraft 1910-1919 ?
It was [[Category:United States aircraft 1910-1919|Twin JN, Curtiss]] that got deleted. My bad. Trekphiler (talk) 21:35, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
We categorise observation aircraft under reconnaissance. Our "role" categories are deliberately broad in order to make them as relevant as possible to the widest range of aircraft as possible. The O-/OA- designation has nothing to do with categories; only the use of the navbox for that particular sequence of designations. And no aircraft article should ever be placed in generic categories like Category:United States aircraft 1910-1919; they're for organising the category tree only (or for the occasional article about the subject of the category itself; if we had an article like Aircraft production in the United States during World War I, it could be categorised in the example we're talking about). --Rlandmann (talk) 02:42, 29 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
