I used to live there for a bit (Derry Park) and most of the section On hearing of his approach, the local residents panicked and decided to vacate the area. They also released the residents of the local asylum (Lisle House) into the neighbourhood to prevent them from being slaughtered - as they thought. As strange as it seems its not beyond the plausibility of truth, seeing as what happened in Drogheda. I was born and raised in Crumlin Village, on the site of the gardens of the said Lisle House, and I believe it was once an asylum, so the story has some substance. The Village Inn now stands there. I'll start something on Lisle House as it was quite an important building in the village. That might throw up some more info.Crumlinvillage (talk) 20:48, 21 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Postal code[edit]

There is no "some areas are considered as being D12 or D6..." - every house either is, or is not, in a particular code. An Post does not define areas, they do not care what "Crumlin" is, but they do define addresses, so the boundary of D6 / D12, street by street, is clear.

I think what the wikipedian was trying to explain there was that Crumlin is not confined to just D12, that it sprawls into D6, hence parts of it are D6. I don't think that they were implying any ambiguity in the postal code system. Blu sonic (talk) 07:20, 13 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
