Parts of the Construction and specifications section are close paraphrasing taken from the public domain survey document. Hard to avoid, and should be okay considering the source. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 14:31, 22 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Dubious claims[edit]

Is there a reason why the covered bridge at Amnicon Falls State Park doesn't count as a covered bridge in Wisconsin? In fact, http://www.dalejtravis.com/cblist/cbwi.htm lists 45 covered briges in the state. That the Main Page repeats this error seems a glaring oversight. I just looked at a whole bunch of photos of the bridge and the wood is really new. It's still yellow, with shiny creosote still visible. Also, the construction, with cables and I-beams smacks of recent times. I'd guess no more than 20 years or so. The plaque on Covered Bridge was placed way before that. Also overlooked by us is the replica bridge, another covered bridge in Wisconsin mentioned in this very article that claims itself as the only one. :) I think our I.Qs have dropped. That article says "The roof was replaced in 1941 after collapsing from heavy snows and again in 197l when destroyed by a fire set by vandals." That says only the roof was replaced in 1971. That's malarkey. There's no way the rest of the bridge is 1940s or earlier. No way. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 08:37, 26 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
