General mills bought Colombo yogurt because they were the number one selling brand in the country. Well that was not true in the Boston area , it was Colombo yogurt that was the number one sold. It out sold yoplay and Dannon partly because it was delivered to your local supermarker on a daily basis in many of your larger supermarkets much like your bread. In many cases it was on the store shelf the day after it was produced, other brands could not come close to this quality and freshness of the product. In my opinion there is not a yogurt on the shelf even today that can achive this quality.

The first thing General Mills did was to dismantle the route system and have the supermarkets pick it up themselves and bring it to their warehouse for distributeion to their stores. I gues if you cant beat your competion you can always buy them and kill them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.31.92.239 (talk) 01:25, 28 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Wikipedia[edit]

If it weren't for Wikipedia, I would waste many hours looking for a non-existent product on the dairy section shelves. Colombo yogurt was excellent. I also admired them when they, at first, didn't follow the others and downsize their cup size.71.168.138.59 (talk) 03:09, 21 April 2015 (UTC)Duncan Dönitz[reply]
