Not a Netflix show[edit]

It seems common for VOD providers (Amazon, Netflix, Hulu, etc.) to label their purchased programming from other regions as "Original" programming. Star Trek Discovery, for example, is listed as a Netflix original in the UK. Derek was a Channel 4 production marketed as a Netflix Original elsewhere, but is not a Netflix show. As far as I can make out, this is a BBC production, later acquired by Netflix. This is backed up by https://www.whats-on-netflix.com/news/netflix-picks-up-bbcs-collateral-as-netflix-original/. Does anyone have any sources that confirm that Netflix were actually involved in the production? --woodensuperman 08:04, 6 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

A couple of sources from when the show started filming suggest it is indeed a co-production[1][2]. I'll replace the source saying it is an acquisition as it has a number of factual errors, and implies Netflix only recently picked up when that is clearly false. Thanks. The BBC source, although a primary source, but probably for that reason, makes it pretty conclusive for me. --woodensuperman 15:03, 6 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
