Reverted info

I see that the information I added about the cost of admission was deleted. Don't you think that information about the site as it is today is as relevant as the other information in the article? Cablemonkey 604 (talk) 21:21, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

I didn't revert your edit, but I can kind of understand the reasoning behind it. Most of the time you'll find info about specific prices and rates included in Wikitravel articles, but not in Wikipedia articles. Ken Thomas (talk) 23:54, 3 March 2008 (UTC)

Image identification

We just got back from Coba and I believe the picture entitled "Coba Group pyramid" is actually near the Nohoch Mul Group.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.188.142.20 (talk • contribs) 17 November 2008

Thanks, but I'd reckon the two images here labelled "Coba Group Pyramid" are both of the structure generally known as "La Iglesia", the main structure in Group B (or Coba Group). It's identifiable by the stela (Stela 11 I think) protected with a small thatch and positioned near a tree out the front, its greater state of disrepair compared with Nohoch Mul and the (hard to discern in the pics) nine levels or tiers.--cjllw ʘ TALK 06:45, 17 November 2008 (UTC)

Scope of article

If the subject of the article is "a large ruined city," why do we need to include figures (in two different sections, no less) on the current population? If modern Cobá is significant enough to merit a Wikipedia article, shouldn't it be separate from the one about the ruins? 850 C (talk) 16:18, 3 June 2014 (UTC)

Chemax - Coba Highway

The article quotes (transcludes, really) the Peabody website: "For many years, a road conveniently leading from Chemax to Coba has been marked on some road maps; alas, it was imaginary. Recently, however, construction of an actual highway linking those towns has started."

I visited Coba on 12/29/2015 and can say that this is outdated information -- the Chemax - Coba road is complete; I drove it myself. I would like to change this sentence, but I'm having difficulty finding a citation to support my personal experience (other than, "if you go on Google Earth, you can see it in the streetview"). I went looking for a newspaper article or the like announcing completion but without luck.

Does anyone with more experience than me at editing Wikipedia have any advice on how I can handle this situation? Maybe I can just remove the sentence asserting that there is no road entirely?
