Clinton (CTA Green and Pink Lines) → Clinton/Lake (CTA) —

Making title concise per Wikipedia:Naming conventions. User who originally moved page added more service routes to titles on a number of train station articles, all of which (except for the Chicago 'L' articles) were hastily reverted. Move would also conform to current 'L' station naming convention of using intersection instead of services (such as Roosevelt/Wabash (CTA)) when multiple lines serve one station. Oppose The fact that many lines are dabbed from Clinton does not mean it should be moved to Clinton/Lake. It should be dabbed from Clinton as it is if that is the common name of the station. I believe many stations have common names and are dabbed in this way. The CTA map refers to it as Clinton. Roosevelt/Wabash (CTA) should be moved to Roosevelt according to this map.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:FOUR) 00:52, 10 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment and Questions The same map also indicates that Roosevelt/State (CTA) should also be renamed Roosevelt. So does this mean it should be renamed Roosevelt (CTA Red Line) and the other one should be renamed Roosevelt (CTA Orange and Green Lines)? And is there any legitimate basis for attaching other street names to the Roosevlet Stations?----DanTD (talk) 04:31, 11 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment I believe the situation with Roosevelt is that the two are separate (but connected) stations with multiple lines passing through. The names that are used here come from CTA itself which often refers to the elevated station as Roosevelt/Wabash to distinguish it from the other nearby station (and specifically because they are connected). (CTA treats references to these two stations the way that's done here for the same reason we currently do.) And considering the fact that the CTA has a name for each specific station, the "/street" designations, the names from the official source should be used here.
