Naming of Surrattsville[edit]

The article does not actually state who the town was named after when it was called Surratt's Villa, later Surrattsville. There was a tradition of naming towns after the postmaster, and John Surratt Jr. was postmaster at one point. But he could not have been the original Surratt. The article also doesn't state how it got to be Clinton. Was that a later postmaster? 71.171.103.178 (talk) 02:02, 2 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
