Return to Coro[edit]

A mention was made in this stub about a return to Coronation Street which I have removed for the following reason. There was no link to any information about such a move being made by Quinten and/or the producers of Coro. I believe this to be a valid reason for removal. Good Deed[edit]

In July 1985 Chris did my family and I a very big favour, for which we are eternally grateful and which has since resulted in many a topic of discussion. Some friends have been very envious and some have actually dis-believed our little story. My wife and I along with our teenage son and daughter queued from early doors to get into the original Live Aid show. We managed to get ourselves right up to the front with a fantastic view. However, after many hours in the blazing sun, crushed between excited fans, our daughter started feeling faint. I looked around the stadium and spotted what I thought were some spare seats off to the side of the stage. I talked the family into following me and we squeezed and pushed our way through the excited, bouncing and jostling fans, clinging onto each other for dear life. However, when we reached the seats we realised they were emtpy because they were offset to the stage, with no view whatsoever. As you can imagine, my name was mud. I led the family up into the bar and went to order drinks to console ourselves. At the bar the guy next to me was Chris. He turned to me and suggested we get back to our seats pretty sharply as "Queen" was about to come on stage. I explained briefly our situation, and without hesitation Chris arranged for us all to follow him into the VIP seated area. Suddenly, from being stuck in the bar, we found ourselves sat with top stars like Bono etc. The funny side was that Bono and friends were sat in front of us with bottles of champange, oysters etc, and we were there with bottles of coke and crisps. We watched the rest of the show from there and thoroughly enjoyed it. After the show I went to thank Chris again but he had left. Chris, if you read this, then thanks again for a good deed that has never been forgotten. If you ever plan to visit the Leeds area let me know, I owe you a drink or two. Best Wishes.
