Wakamiya Shinobu[edit]

I added her name in Romaji. Here's the reference for those of you who doubt: http://kc.kodansha.co.jp/character/list.php/1000003555 It's in Japanese. There's a Wiki policy somewhere that says "use English." So I also changed "karuta," which means "card game" to card game. I've been collecting internet references to Chihayafuru in case anyone is tempted to say it isn't notable. Timothy Perper (talk) 14:22, 10 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I just added two more names; same reference. Timothy Perper (talk) 14:42, 10 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

also being broadcast in Kyushu[edit]

I know we don't usually include information on other airings, etc. but Chihayafuru will be broadcast on FBS starting on 11 October. http://www.saiani.net/article/228253027.html - another graveyard slot. Might be worthwhile knowing about in case information about ratings becomes available. --Malkinann (talk) 02:59, 3 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Because I can't be bothered looking up the CSE every time I want something: --Malkinann (talk) 00:16, 8 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks... it's useful for Wiki. But no one else in the manga and anime field -- I mean professionals and fans -- cares about what is or is not "wiki-reliable" or "wiki-verifiable." In fact, in manga and anime criticism, some of the most valuable sources around are the fan blogs and opinion websites -- which are of no use on Wiki -- because they provide good indexes for fan and marketing trends. But sometimes Wiki paints itself into a corner. Now, the answer is NOT to say that Wiki isn't a crystal ball and so on. We all want, I suspect, to avoid unreliable sources when we say something about a given manga or anime title. That's fine, but we are missing an enormous amount that way. Both the manga and anime (main) articles should have subsections called "Trends" or something like that, and articles about specific titles, like Chihayafuru, should or could also have such sections. For example, Kodansha recently re-released the Sailor Moon manga, and volume 1 leaped to spot #1 in the ICv2 popularity figures. But the guts of that upsweep isn't recorded on websites like ICv2 but on blogs and other "unreliable" places. So Wiki is not only out-of-date, but we can't even include such material. Maybe there's some solution to this problem, but I don't know what it is. Timothy Perper (talk) 22:36, 9 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I agree - if policies are followed strictly, depending on the subject, Wikipedia tends not to be so great at capturing the zeitgeist. (My personal favourite example of this is SeaChange. Dismal article, but the show was AWESOME.) Nonetheless, the CSE is still a good tool for Wiki purposes. --Malkinann (talk) 01:07, 10 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Episode list split[edit]

The main article is around 30 KB now, and I feel that per WP:SIZE, the fact that episode lists are considered to be acceptable daughter articles, and the fact that 25 episodes are planned, that the episode list could be spun off into its own article now. --Malkinann (talk) 22:08, 19 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think the general way these things are handled is to hold off until there are a significat number of aired episodes to warrant an article. Such as 12 or something. Wonchop (talk) 23:47, 19 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Or until after the Autumn 2011 season is over. The article is just starting to feel a bit small/crowded - and I wouldn't propose the volume list to be split because it doesn't have plot summaries, chapter lists, etc, even though it's longer than the episode list. --Malkinann (talk) 00:17, 20 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well, 12 episodes have passed so now seems to be the right time to add a new article. List of Chihayafuru episodes Wonchop (talk) 19:58, 20 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Picky suggestions[edit]

App and Guide books should probably be merged under a single header titled Others. Reception needs to be reorganized, seeing as there are loose sentences in there. The manga volume sales statistics looks excessive to me but are not against guide lines. DragonZero (Talk · Contribs) 03:10, 8 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Splitting Characters into a separate page.[edit]

The list of current characters is really long now. Can we split it into another page? --Jake/ MH 10:01, 14 January 2014 (UTC)
