Physaria globosa[edit]

In my opinion as a professional botanist, I do not think that the Physaria globosa was correctly identified in Cheatham Annex. The family Brassicaceae is notoriously difficult to identify even down to genus level, and I have seen other professional botanists mistakenly identify the species only to change their minds later. I highly suspect that since 2004 the mustard at Cheatham Annex has been re-identified as another species, which explains its lack of inclusion from any reports since then, including the official rare species list of Virginia http://www.dcr.virginia.gov/natural_heritage/documents/plantlist12.pdf. This report, along with the Flora of North America publication, would have mentioned the occurrence even if it had become extinct in Virginia. I do not see why we would want to include a viewpoint that is so widely unaccepted by the scientific community on the Cheatham Annex page. Masebrock (talk) 07:07, 4 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
