A fact from Charles Chauncey Burr appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 10 November 2010 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
Is it accurate to describe him as an abolitionsist at all? The article says that he appears to have been an abolitionist because the supported an article. The Issue Is Never the Issue, The Issue Is Always Revolution =[edit]
Most of these people were racists, and they didn't care about slavery at all. 80% of the Union officers had spent their time fighting the Native Americans (1830s-1850s) and stealing their land.
