@Tonari8 I noticed your significant edits to the page and wondered whether you had reliable sources to remove the claims about North Korean teachings. While your edits seem to have contributed positively to the neutrality of the page, I'm worried you might be de-emphasizing the North Korean links too much.

While I saw the video you attached, it seems some of the sources that were attached to that section at least warrant discussion, and I would suggest we try to find stronger sources to warrant the other claims in the page. agucova (talk) 07:40, 17 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Respectfully disagree; the article isn't really that long and the schools' NK links are usually hot topics of conversation. I don't think anything written in the article is unfair or particularly harshly worded either. toobigtokale (talk) 19:38, 5 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Grammatical Errors, general sloppiness[edit]

This article feels incomplete and somewhat opinionated. Beyond that, there are some blatant grammatical errors. Number of students[edit]

I found a source that says up to 40,000 students are enrolled in North Korean affiliated schools. https://www.google.co.kr/books/edition/Diversity_in_Japanese_Culture_and_Langua/PyuZzUVNgCUC?hl=en&gbpv=1&dq=%22chosen+gakko%22+-wikipedia&printsec=frontcover p. 168.

The source in this wiki page which currently says there are 8,000 ethnic Korean students enrolled is defunct. I think it's better to change the claim from 8,000 ethnic Koreans > "up to 40,000 students attend choson gakko". Itzybella8 (talk) 06:38, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Beginnings of the schools[edit]

Most sources I have found support the idea that the schools were started in the 1940s. However, currently the wikipedia article states: "Since the opening of Korea University in 1957 (not to be confused with Korea University in Seoul), North Korea has funded the schools."

This implies the funding and schools only began in the 1940s, which is seemingly not the case.

I want to remove this claim but first I wanted to open it to the floor.

I have removed the claim for now as I cannot find any other sources to support this notion & it confuses information in the rest of the article.

It is strange to say they began once Korea university was founded in 1957, but they were also first created in the 1940s later in the article.

Please feel free to add it back in if you are able to clarify how the schools starting in 1957 links with the schools starting in the 1940s. Itzybella8 (talk) 23:58, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
