Untitled[edit]

  • Should it be included in the opening sentence that he was a traitor/tried for treason by Austria-Hungary? After all, that is what he is most famous for.--Karl franz josef (talk) 14:22, 30 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Place he was born[edit]

He was not Italian, he was from Trento that in his time was part of Austria-Hungary (now it is italian), but he was a italian nationalist, thats different.--Tercerista (talk) 23:45, 1 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Intenional misinformation?[edit]

Quoting:

He requested a military execution by firing squad so as to not dishonor the Italian Army uniform, but the judge denied his request and ...

"instead procured for him some shabby civilian clothes."

False, he was given his own civilian clothes.

Dressed in these, ...

"he was executed (hanged and garrotted)"

False, he was hanged by short drop. Garrottes were used in Portugal, never in Austria.

the same day, the brutality of which was increased by the fact that ...

"executioner Josef Lang [de] botched the job"

The first rope ripped, thus a new rope was used.

"so that Battisti actually was hanged twice."

As the firt rope ripped, he did not hang but fall. With the new rope, he was executed once. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2003:C0:DF2B:FB00:607F:EEC2:C84D:40DD (talk) 16:08, 1 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
