The result of the move request was: move to Cervino, Campania. "CE" is unknown to English speakers. Fences&Windows 20:40, 1 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Cervino (CE)Cervino, Italy — This is a horrid disambiguator, so should use a disambiguator that actually makes sense to the English-speaking world, and not some person living in Italy and no one else in the world. The current form of disambiguation is currently discouraged. In English "CE" commonly means "Common Era", a synonym for "AD" / "Anno Domini" - so this article is currently sitting at "Cervino (in the year of our lord)" - which is a horrid name. 70.29.212.131 (talk) 05:43, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion[edit]

Any additional comments:
  • Comment. For related discussions, see Talk:Alife, Italy and Talk:Roccamonfina. It seems to me that going at these articles piecemeal like this is not the best solution to the problem (if there is a problem), nor is it likely to produce a consistent method of disambiguating names of Italian places. I think a centralized discussion is needed about what, if anything, should be done about the many titles that contain abbreviations of province names as disambiguators. • Reply Abbreviations that have no widespread knowledge in English-using populations are pretty useless to help people disambiguate the use, especially, when there is an extremely common use that is not what the article intents, like "CE" for instance, so I think that the "CE" cases merit special attention. 70.29.212.131 (talk) 04:21, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
      • See my comment at Talk:Bellona (CE) - hang fire for now, and let's decide this somewhere centrally, rather than repeating this same conversation over multiple pages - all that does is waste time and confuse matters. Knepflerle (talk) 14:11, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
