What made the pillar "infamous" please?[edit]
Can a specialist in this area of history explain why the use of the word "infamous" is proper in describing the pillar? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.22.47.232 (talk) 03:27, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
- I looked at it and I don't really think the word is proper, so I removed it. If someone who does know whether the word infamous is proper, please undo or rollback my edit. pluma Ø 03:37, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
- When a military power initiates force against innocent civilians, completely erases their town from the map, and then erects a pillar to gloat about it, I'd say that's unanimously considered infamous among all morally decent persons, at least in modern times.
