WikiProject COVID-19[edit]

I've created WikiProject COVID-19 as a temporary or permanent WikiProject and invite editors to use this space for discussing ways to improve coverage of the ongoing 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic. Please bring your ideas to the project/talk page. Stay safe, --Another Believer (Talk) 17:23, 15 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merge of 2020 coronavirus pandemic in Akrotiri and Dhekelia into 2020 coronavirus pandemic in Cyprus[edit]

Akrotiri and Dhekelia stats are already included in the Cyprus stats. Double listing is not needed and confusing. gidonb (talk) 23:38, 22 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Strongly Oppose The unrecognised state of Northern Cyprus has its own page so should the recognised territory of Akrotiri and Dhekelia. Responses will be different as Akrotiri and Dhekelia are British territories, not Cypriot. RandomIntrigue (talk) 03:39, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS (here Northern Cyprus) arguments are not valid at Wikipedia. 2020 coronavirus pandemic in Akrotiri and Dhekelia clearly states that the stats of the British territories are included in the Cypriotic stats. This is not a proposal to change anything for the Northern Cyprus article. gidonb (talk) 04:09, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Strong Oppose – All other territories of the United Kingdom which have cases have articles, so we should keep this one for consistency. Additionally, due to the territory's unique situation between Cyprus and the United Kingdom, it's best to keep it as its own article to help make it clear. Paintspot Infez (talk) 19:08, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak oppose: Articles are not only about statistics. "Double listing" is a non-problem. For many countries there are articles for provinces, etc. --MarioGom (talk) 18:00, 30 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I have changed my vote to Weak oppose. I think the stated reasons for the merge are not valid. But if the article ends up as a fork of a subset of 2020 coronavirus pandemic in Cyprus without any further details about Akrotiri and Dhekelia, then I would support a merge. --MarioGom (talk) 18:14, 30 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Projected Active Cases Graph Line[edit]

The Projected Active Cases Graph Line assumes that one infected person should test negative 30 days after the day of testing. In order to keep things simple and easy to manage, we disregard reported numbers of recoveries and deaths.

To calculate the Projected Active Cases for the day you are editing use this formula

ProjectedActiveCases = NewTotalCases - OldTotalCases

ProjectedActiveCases is the value you want to insert to the graph. It's the value for today unless we miss one day of input.

NewTotalCases are the the number of the total infections for the day you are calculating. Again, today's value unless we missed the previous day.

OldTotalCases are the total infections on the same day of the previous month. So if you are editing the 2nd of May, the value you want are the total infections that were reported on the 2nd of April (356).

An example for 2nd of May is ProjectedActiveCases = 864 - 356

The Projected Active Cases for the 2nd of May is 508

Notes

You can use the chart on the side to easily find the total infections for the previous month. Try to maintain the same calendar day for the sake of simplicity. Artorias Sanchez (talk) 22:12, 2 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Different Numbers[edit]

Why is the number of deaths here 26 and in many other sources (including the German Wikipedia) 19? 145.130.62.213 (talk) 10:33, 19 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

False tests[edit]

There was some false positive tests in the recent days. Can someone fix the numbers? https://cyprus-mail.com/2020/08/27/two-from-initial-group-of-30-test-positive-in-repeat-tests/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A01:36D:111:E1D6:498:76B3:4873:29FF (talk) 15:19, 27 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please place {{Update}} on the top of the article. The article says there are 824 cases, but https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/map.html now says 7500, and I don't see any numbers in this article newer than August. 2601:5C6:8081:35C0:907A:F621:FAAA:9EC5 (talk) 12:12, 18 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Why does it stop in June?[edit]

The government dashboard goes to November and has 46 deaths https://covid19.ucy.ac.cy/

so why does this page stop in June? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.112.30.115 (talk) 05:20, 25 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
