2007 Michigan Budget Crisis[edit]

This does not cite sources and refers to November 2007 in the future tense. I'm removing it. I have no objection to someone fixing it and putting it back. Mohrr (talk) 00:34, 20 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

2011 budtget crisis[edit]

I've removed the section right now, since it has apparently been averted...for the next week at least. Here is the text. hbdragon88 (talk) 04:26, 9 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The U.S government will shut down at midnight on April 8, 2011 if a budget or a stopgap measure is not approved. Non-essential services would come to a halt and workers would be sent home. 800,000 furloughed workers could be without a job and members of the military would not be paid. At issue is some of the policy riders attached to the budget bill, including de-funding of Planned Parenthood and barring the EPA from regulating greenhouse gases.
