Missing surname[edit]

Could the "Mikhail Nikolaevich" with no last name be the Prince / Grand Duke of that name, who would still have been alive at the relevant time? Because he was royalty, a mention of him could well omit his last name (Romanov). - Jmabel | Talk 05:17, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It is not the case, as the full name is Mikhail Nikolaevich Giers (1856-1924), Russian Minister at Bucharest between 1902-1912, then Ambassador at Constantinople between 1912-1914 and at Rome, 1915-1917.
