Hi. You got ahead of me here a bit. I was adding the Greek law information when I realized that we didn't really want to say it here, as there are 18 other institutes to which it applies. I therefore updated List of Foreign Archaeological Institutes in Greece with as much of the law as I considered relevant. That included just about everything that I said here (intentionally). My next step was going to be to delete the material from here, except for the briefest of introductions. Meanwhile the article attracted your attention. You hesitated to delete my material, out of courtesy I suppose, and moved it to a legal section. Thank you for the courtesy, but I was going to delete it anyway. I think I will just go ahead and delete it. There won't be much legal section left, but we didn't really want that here anyway, did we? People are not interested in a detailed exposition of the institute's legal status. I will work what is left of the section back into your introduction. That is what is going on with these seemingly extensive changes. I created the problem and now I am fixing it. Thanks for your interest in the article. I plan to cover some of the material in their web site so people will know why they are an institute and what they really do. But, the big thing I want to go on to is their archaeological work. I want to see a table there of their excavations. Right now there is only a partial list in paragraph form. I might do more with the history. Hi, it is I again. I just noticed something I think we need to guard against. Before I changed your intro it read like this:

"The British School at Athens (BSA) (Greek: Βρετανική Σχολή Αθηνών) is a UK educational charity, founded in 1886."

I just noticed the British-school website has:

"Founded in 1886, the BSA is a UK-registered charity and is one of seven British International Research Institutes that receive annual funding from the British Academy."

To me that is too close for comfort. We're writing an independent article here. I think there might be a little confusion. I quote their site in the box. Small quotes for educational purposes are generally allowed. Everything is quoted or attributed. What I do not do is copy or paraphrase their words or their style, which is quite a different thing. We have to guard against that, I think. What I do is use them as a reference. Copying their material is not the same thing at all. It is not desirable to copy them or look like we are paraphrasing them too closely. It could come back to bite us. We don't need to do that, we are perfectly good writers on our own.Botteville (talk) 08:27, 19 February 2019 (UTC)

• Why it should be changed: Roderick Beaton assumed the role of Chair of Council, in succession to Carol Bell, with effect from the British School at Athens' Annual General Meeting held on 8 February 2022
