Infobox[edit]

This biographical entry would benefit from an infobox regarding the individual featured. You can see other entries on SDS/Weather members for examples of content and coding.--Historytrain (talk) 06:13, 20 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unidentified URLS Listed[edit]

< Near the end of the article, there appears a list of URLs that are not accompanied by verbal labels. The reader would benefit from short descriptions of what each of these links is, and perhaps a brief statement of its relevance to this individual's biography. (Are they part of the bibliography? Are they meant to be a separate section on external links?)--Historytrain (talk) 06:31, 20 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Items for which Citations are Needed[edit]

<Brian Flanagan was born in 1947 and raised in Manhattan, New York.> Source(s)?--Historytrain (talk) 06:32, 20 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

<During the 1960s, Flanagan attended Columbia University, where he was a member of Students for a Democratic Society. > Source(s)?--Historytrain (talk) 06:32, 20 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

During the rally Flanagan had a physical encounter with 35-year-old lawyer Richard Elrod that left Elrod with a broken neck and partially paralyzed from the neck down.> Source(s)? --Historytrain (talk) 06:35, 20 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

<Flanagan stood trial for "attempted murder, aggravated battery, felonious mob action, and resisting arrest."> Source(s)?--Historytrain (talk) 06:35, 20 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

<Like many members of the Weather Underground Organization, Flanagan was never jailed for his involvement in the Weather Underground Organization due to the illegal evidence-gathering tactics of the FBI’s COINTELPRO program.>--Historytrain (talk) 06:37, 20 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Content and Elaboration[edit]

This article is off to a good start. I think it could benefit from an introduction paragraph including key points on Flanagan's identity and significance. This would provide an easy reference for people only concerned with basic facts on him. It would be beneficial to know why Flanagan was acquitted on charges after Days of Rage (noted in Which Way the Wind Blew). In reading the section addressing the Townhouse Explosion, I am a bit confused as to whether Boudin was literally placed inside the townhouse during the time of the explosion or did you mean police were pinning the crime on her? You should cite the source when you reference Flanagan's commentary in Weather Underground. It would be beneficial to elaborate on the purpose of the trip to Algeria, if possible. Finally, it would be great if you added a bit more about Flanagan's bar in New York and the crowd it attracted. There are a few articles in the New York Times archives on the Night Cafe which you could draw content from. --Pearlscholar (talk) 07:26, 23 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think your article is a good start, as well.I understand that there is a not a lot of references and sources to play with, but if you can try to find some interviews so you can explain a little bit more of his ideology. Some minor changes were made, but the overall outline of your biography looks really good. Texanlonghorn (talk) 18:25, 24 November 2008 (UTC)Texanlonghorn[reply]

Good start[edit]

This entry is off to a good start. Do you have a resource for where he was raised? And just a few explanatory notes on his acquittal and perhaps a little more on his foreign travel to explain the why and how of the trip. This is still a really good entry with good information. Include both notes and bibliography[edit]

Although this article includes notes, they are abbreviated references, making necessary a bibliography with full citations for sources. See other biographies for examples.--Historytrain (talk) 20:02, 29 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Made Mistake on my Last Edit[edit]

The explanation for my last edit read as "included information on Proposition 26, and various additional tweaks." It should have read as "incorporated Template:AmericanDomesticTerrorism." Sorry about the confusion. KevinOKeeffe (talk) 11:45, 16 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

First Comments in 3 Years[edit]

Most comments above, historytrain/nothing/pearlscholar, are quite valid. A new, expanded lede is required. More notability in lede. In the body, yes, cites are needed and are available. As far as Brian's NY bar . . . Biblio and better MOS style. Article is too short, given the suggestion that Brian helped after townhouse explosion, setting up arrangements in Algeria to house Timothy Leary (which is not yet in article -- Brian must vet this first), his arrest during Days of Rage when the person paralyzed was not just a lawyer but an assistant state's attorney for the City of Chicago (needs clarification in article), and a couple of other things.

Will work on it -- will take time. Comments most helpful.Weathervane13 (talk) 02:03, 28 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
