Requested move[edit]

The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was moved to Chotto Brain Training. There's no clear consensus here, so I've moved it back to the name where it remained the longest. Hopefully new information will come out soon which will allow editors to come to a clearer consensus. Aervanath (talk) 16:10, 1 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support move to Chotto Brain Training. Most English speakers would find the current title unuseable. I'm not convinved that the Wikilinks do particularly support the move, but not a lot of reasoning is required; Assuming that these are both accurate names, and that there are no other candidates, the move is the way to go. • Without having done much (sufficient?) research, this doesn't thrill me. It doesn't appear to be a "common" title; if the game is released in English, it will receive an English title that is sure to become the common name. I don't understand why you would translate part of the title ("Nō o Kitaeru" to "Brain Training") but not the rest of it ("Chotto" to "A Little Bit of"). If you're intent on such a move, why not A Little Bit of Brain Training? Dekimasuよ! 00:52, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
    • A Little Brain Training gets some English hits on Google for the game. Dekimasuよ! 00:54, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
    • Hmmmm... what about WP:FUTURE? Andrewa (talk) 07:15, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
      • Well, yes, that's kind of the point I was making... I wasn't actually advocating "A Little Bit of Brain Training" based on its merits. There isn't necessarily a common title in English now, but if we're going to search for a common English title, it probably won't leave one word in Japanese. There are some English-language hits for the version of the title that also translates "Chotto". I am somewhat in opposition to moving the article. Dekimasuよ! 01:10, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose The VG guidelines actually support keeping it at the current title. There is no official English name for the game, so the guidelines say to use the official name of the game. TJ Spyke 04:18, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
    • "Subtitles and pre-titles are allowed if deemed appropriate but are not necessary." Megata Sanshiro (talk) 09:49, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
      • Except there's no subtitle or pretitle in that. That is the whole title. There is also zero reason to move it to a title that doesn't exist. There is no game called "Chotto Brain Training". You can't just use your own made up title just because you think the real title is too long. Besides, assuming this is released in English when the DSi comes out here we can then move it.
