This new temp stub article is an original piece of writing, by myself. Of course, the historical data will remain the same and that cannot be changed. Manopingo 18:14, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Have added links etc. No-one should have any CR problems with the article now.-Manopingo 02:34, 11 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Confiscated" or "stolen"?[edit]

First time using this medium so please excuse of there are errors. Finbarr, In the article on the Book of Lismore you speak of the book being 'confiscated'. Surely this is incorrect - the book was stolen, robbed. Denis — Preceding unsigned comment added by Denis.kiely (talkcontribs) 09:12, 28 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Above comment originally placed on my Talk page but needs to be here. Personally, I have no idea which word is the more appropriate. Hope others can advise... --A bit iffy (talk) 09:28, 28 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
'Confiscated' indicates that it was taken on the basis of a legal authority, we should not be swayed by whether we think it was a reasonable action. Changing this to 'stolen' without adding a source or referring to the existing sources could be interpreted as a point-of-view edit. If there is real doubt about the circumstances then we could use the more neutral 'taken'. Verbcatcher (talk) 16:53, 28 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
