Schutzstaffel

Should there not be a section, or at least a mention, of Hitler's Schutzstaffel (SS)? It was originally, and remained until his death, an organisation dedicated to the preservation of Hitler's life... 92.8.149.38 (talk) 14:25, 13 November 2008 (UTC)

Historical troops were combat forces not just bodyguards

Peole, I highly doubt the comparison between U.S.Secret Service and historical troops. E.g. the Janissaries were definitely a military, combat force that was not only protecting the sultan, but also fighting the wars. "Security police" link is also doubtful. Let's be either professional or using reliable sources. Best wishes, AlexPU

Automatic weapons

Hey, under licensing, does anyone have any info on if bodyguards get special permits on certain weapons (example: fully automatics) and other benefits? Posted by: Justin Time (Not a user)

In the US, probably the only bodyguards that would have a fully-automatic machine pistol or submachine gun hidden under their coats would be the Secret Service. As well, the military bodyguards for US military officers (e.g. in Iraq) would also have automatic weapons. Other than that, it is hard to imagine any other type of bodyguard getting a licence to carry a machine pistol or submachine gun.OnBeyondZebrax (talk) 12:02, 18 July 2009 (UTC)

Rewrite this article!!

Who ever started this article has no idea what the difference is between "Bodyguard" and a "Close Protection Officer". It is a total advert for a company trying to promote themselves. What is a "Bodyguard"? A person with very little training. What is a "Close Protection Officer"? A person that is certified and has taken the effort to train himself to be a professional. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cpoberlin (talkcontribs) 07:14, 10 February 2011 (UTC)
