This is what used to be on the WXRT's website as Bobby's bio. Perhaps a wordsmith could incorporate some of these additional tidbits of info into the article.

"Bobby Skafish returned to XRT in November of 1994, after an adventurous absence of 11 years. Bobby has been a mainstay of Chicago radio since 1976. Before returning to WXRT, Bobby spent nearly a year at WKQX in 1993, and spent 10 years as an on-air personality at WLUP almost exclusively in the afternoon drive shift. He proved his popularity with Chicago listeners when he was named the editor's pick for Best Radio DJ and 2nd in the Audience Top 10 in the Best of Citysearch 2001.

Besides his on-air duties, Bobby has hosted several nationally syndicated radio specials. In 1983 he hosted a live call-in show called The Robert Plant Radio Conference, then in 1987 he hosted The Pretenders Live From Chicago on the Westwood One Radio Networks, and in 1990 Bobby served as host for the nationally syndicated Rockline program on the Global Satellite Network.

Bobby's first venture into Chicago radio was at WXRT, where he worked from 1976 until his departure in 1983. He conceived, programmed, and hosted The Big Beat, a weekly program exclusively devoted to alternative and modern rock sounds, which served as a radio launching pad for several later-to-be household names, such as U2.

A Wrigleyville resident and Hammond, Indiana native, he attended Indiana University in Bloomington and majored in Telecommunications."
