Billy Longley[edit]

I was surprised, upon hearing today that Longley had died, to find that "The Texan" didn't have an article. There is ample opportunity to expand this article with:

detail of his time in the Painters and Dockers union
the burning of the 1971 union election ballot box
the disputed murder of Pat Shannon
his earlier conviction for the manslaughter of his then wife
how he came to get his nickname
his alleged role in the deaths of others
