Notable?[edit]

To quote from the article:

"Michaels never won a superstar status, and it's correct in saying that she never will. Her films were largely unknown when they were originally released, and have became more un-notable over-time, as they were hard to locate."

If this actress never appeared in any notable films, then why is she notable? Does this person fulfill any of the parameters for WP:ENTERTAINER? Shearonink (talk) 12:38, 5 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

One of the criteria for WP:ENTERTAINER is "has a large fan base or a significant "cult" following." One could say that she meets that criteria because 1) film critic Eddie Muller said her appearance was one of the most memorable moments at his film festival (see http://www.noirfilm.com/BC_Eddie_Muller.htm); 2) her obituary appeared in Classic Images magazine, 3) she was profiled on www.glamourgirlsofthesilverscreen.com and IMDB, 4)her political leanings were mentioned in Motion Picture and Television Magazine, and 5) her grave site was reported in the Wilson book -- all of which amount to extensive media attention, sort of, which is another notability criteria. Middle name, birth year, children[edit]

Greetings Wikipedians! Carson City NV US Marriage index, 1855-1985 shows Beverly Eileen Michaels Vetluguin married Russell Edwin Rouse on 18 April 1957. Given the specificity of the facts (prior husband's last name and second husband's full name both cited), there can be little doubt that her middle name was Eileen. Ancestry.com shows a Beverly E. Michaels born "29 Dec. 1928" in New York. But when I viewed the actual document Ancestry used as a source (New York NY US Birth Index 1910 - 1965, borough of Manhattan), it shows a Beverly E. Michaels born "Dec. 29 '27." It was contained in births reported as 1928 (understandable, since the birth was on Dec. 29 of 1927). That must have led to the confusion over which year she was born. Based on all the above, I'm confident these records both relate to the person this article ia about and I'm changing her name and birthdate accordingly.

The prior text stated two children but the citation (his obituary) names three. I don't know where the two came from so I conformed to the existing citation. Cordially, BuzzWeiser196 (talk) 13:29, 17 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Removed "more citations needed" template[edit]

Although there is more work to be done, considering the citations I've added in the past few days I think we now have enough references to reliable sources to remove this template. Cordially, BuzzWeiser196 (talk) 18:40, 17 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The article rewrite is substantially complete, at least until I find more secondary sources. BuzzWeiser196 (talk) 19:51, 7 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of "See also" section heading[edit]

I have removed the "See also" section heading so that the bulleted items appear under "References". Perhaps some other section heading might be appropriate for them, if someone wants to add one. "See also" should be used for links to other Wikipedia articles that are related to this article. See MOS:SEEALSO for more details. Eddie Blick (talk) 20:57, 7 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I wasn't aware of the criteria for "See Also." BuzzWeiser196 (talk) 10:46, 8 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome, BuzzWeiser196. I have found that there is always more to learn about Wikipedia. Eddie Blick (talk) 03:39, 9 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Reverted: East Side, West Side[edit]

Greetings Wikipedians! The cast of this film did in fact include Ava Gardner and Van Heflin, but someone (no user name) deleted those two actors and added Mason and Stanwyck. Why? They were in the film too. So I've edited this again so that all four are mentioned. Cordially, BuzzWeiser196 (talk) 14:36, 16 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
