studio album or ep?[edit]

I‘m not sure if we already know that the album is indeed a studio album like map of the soul: 7 or an ep like map of the soul: persona?--Marie Kröger (talk) 17:35, 28 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It’s confirmed as a studio album. Doggy54321 (talk) 21:17, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Where? The pre-release notice said album but it was the same for MOTS:Persona, so it doesn't mean anything. We won't know until the tracklist is announced. -- Ivanacccp (talk) 22:14, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Ivanacccp: it doesn’t matter. Track listing isn’t a way to tell if it’s an EP or an album. From sources so far, it’s a studio album. Therefore, we need to treat it like a studio album unless announced otherwise. Thanks! Doggy54321 (talk) 22:28, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I concur with Ivanacccp. It's nowhere revealed if it's an EP or a studio album so there's no reason to treat it as the latter. Rolling Stone calls it an "LP" by the way. --Ashleyyoursmile! 08:45, 30 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Ashleyyoursmile: an LP is another word for studio album. It means long play, so if rolling stone calls it an LP, it can’t be an EP (extended play), so it has to be a studio album. In the title of the rolling stone article, it says "album". Big Hit calls it an "album". It’s an album. Doggy54321 (talk) 11:11, 30 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Doggy54321: Rolling Stone also called MOTS:Persona an LP as soon as the pre-release was announced, before we knew it was an EP. It means nothing. The members themselves said they would probably include 6-7 songs, but we won't know until the number of tracks is revealed. People can assume that it will be a studio album but it is just an assumption, not a fact. -- Ivanacccp (talk) 12:40, 30 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Ivanacccp: ok, Taylor Swift announces all her albums and does a regular album rollout for every album, not Folklore (Taylor Swift album), where it was a surprise. We can’t assume anything. A reliable source says it’s a studio album. Therefore, we listen to said source. Doggy54321 (talk) 12:43, 30 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Doggy54321: There is no reliable source. Bighit hasn't said anything. Media outlets like RS always assume that it will be a studio album, like they did with Persona, so you shouldn't take that as a confirmation. But ok. We'll find out next month. - Ivanacccp (talk) 13:28, 30 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Ivanacccp: sure, but Rolling Stone is a generally reliable source. Even if they always assume, that’s because there’s no other confirmation. We will find out soon enough, though. Doggy54321 (talk) 13:42, 30 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Request for page protection[edit]

@Fuzheado, EN-Jungwon, and SmallPotatoHeh333: just to let y’all know, I’ve requested temp semi protection of this article. WP:Requests for page protection#Be (BTS album) is the link. Just wanted to let you guys know as we’ve been reverting vandalism for the past day. Thanks so much, btw. D🐶ggy54321 (let's chat!) 01:47, 14 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

First single?[edit]

Carlobunnie, Doggy54321, Ivanacccp: I found this source which states "Dynamite" is the first single. Though the new rules of COVID-19 mean they can’t come here and promote Be, its first single might not have happened in the first place but for the pandemic. “ ‘Dynamite’ wouldn’t be here... Does that warrant that "Dynamite" could be listed as a single from the album? What are your opinions? --Ashleyyoursmile! 13:19, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

There’s another source [1] that says that "Life Goes On" is the lead single. BTS announce details of new lead single ‘Life Goes On’. I think we should honestly take majority at this point. Whichever song has more sources calling it the lead single should be mentioned as the lead single. D🐶ggy54321 (let's chat!) 13:31, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Ashleyyoursmile: courtesy ping. D🐶ggy54321 (let's chat!) 13:32, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Doggy54321, from what I know "lead single" and "first single" aren't the same? Like for Map of the Soul: 7, "Black swan" is the first single and "On" the lead single. Or, in case of Blackpink's the Album, "Lovesick Girls" is the lead single. So I was saying that "Dynamite" is perhaps the first single like the above source states? ("Life Goes on" stays the lead.) --Ashleyyoursmile! 13:40, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Ashleyyoursmile: what? A lead single is the first single released in promotion with the album. Lead single and first single can be used interchangeably. See lead single for more info. A title track or main single (I prefer main single as title track is the track that is also the name of the album) is what Lovesick Girls/Black Swan is. D🐶ggy54321 (let's chat!) 15:02, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Billboard, Papermag, Metro, Buzzfeed, EW and a bunch of other sites call LGO the lead single. Dynamite was originally a standalone track, the boys mentioned they didn't know if it was going to be included in the album. It was never treated like Black Swan. - Ïvana (talk) 14:08, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Ïvana: agreed. Metro UK isn’t reliable, but the rest of the sources are good. D🐶ggy54321 (let's chat!) 15:02, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Doggy54321, Ïvana thanks for the clarification. :) --Ashleyyoursmile! 15:06, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry I'm so late replying to this. Thought my reply saved this morning but the page must have refreshed. My thoughts were basically what Ïvana said though. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 00:34, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Background section re-write[edit]

If anyone is willing to revamp the background section, please feel free to go ahead and work on it. The section is a bit bulky since I'd expanded it during the article's early stages and could do with some overhaul. I'm not sure where to start with the re-write so I'm asking here. Thank you in advance. --Ashleyyoursmile! 11:40, 1 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Esquire's Best Albums of 2020[edit]

Esquire included BE on their list of The Best Albums of 2020. I don't see an Accolades section on the page so leaving the info here for now. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 21:26, 21 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
