Where the battle took place[edit]

The battle ocurred on the La Plata River in Argentine waters, nothing to do with the place shown in the map. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 200.198.204.68 (talk) 13:19, 10 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That was another battle, in a different Riachuelo. DPdH (talk) 21:07, 6 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Rangel[edit]

The Rangel is a mistake in the Brazilian sources. there was no such ship at the battle. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Vawarner2000 (talkcontribs) 00:01, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Agree, I have a list of the ships in the battle, will fix it now and reference it (since this lacks reference). Veritiel (talk) 11:46, 5 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Casualites[edit]

In the article of battle of Riachuelo is said that the Brazilan Forces had 247 deaths, but i found a list that says that the Brazil had: mortos (portuguese for deads) feridos (portuguese for wounded)

Amazonas -> 13 Mortos e 13 Feridos

Belmonte -> 9 Mortos e 23 Feridos

Iguatemi -> 1 Morto e 6 Feridos

Jequitinhonha -> 8 Mortos e 33 Feridos

Parnaíba -> 33 Mortos e 29 Feridos

Beberibe -> 5 Mortos e 19 Feridos

Araguari -> 2 Mortos e 5 Feridos

Ipiranga -> 1 Morto e 6 Feridos

Mearim -> 2 Mortos e 8 Feridos

Total 74 deaths 142 Wounded

i think this should be changed right? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cypher3 (talkcontribs) 23:53, 5 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No, the article says 247 casualties, not 247 deads. There are other sources with the same number of casualties, but with 123 deads and 124 missing and wounded. see: http://www.reocities.com/Pentagon/Camp/2523/

Lost ships[edit]

Is there a source listing the Paraguayan ships lost? Thanks, DPdH (talk) 21:15, 6 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
