Bombing during the Emergency[edit]

During the Second World War, a German plane with two men inside flew over Co. Carlow and crashed landed somewhere near Mt Leinster. Before crashing, the pilot dropped all the bombs near the town of Ballymurphy perhaps to lighten the load and they landed on a farmer's house killing the residents. I do not have a source but the incident seems to be well known to people from the area. If I found a credible source I'll add the interesting anecdote in.
