Superlatives[edit]

Rather than edit warring over how great a player he is, I'd suggest that anyone who wants to add to the article finds some quotes by noted cricket commentators / journalists / players who describe him as great and add that to the article. Something along the lines of Joe Bloggs described him as "one of the finest players of his generation" with appropriate reference. List of international cricket centuries by Babar Azam merge[edit]

Lead section[edit]

@Chynapras: rather than just arguing / appealing to authority, could you please explain why the mention of his T20I century and 13 ODI century feats need to be mentioned in the lead, rather in the appropriate career section later on? I've reverted these changes, so we are back to the stable version. The additions to the lead were not good with (as Spike says) a completely random statistic that has zero long term significance. The wording changes regarding his rise to no.1 were poor ("is the no 1 ODI batsman" is especially bad), and there is absolutely no need to include every minute detail in the lead (points, Kohli's time at the top, etc.). wjematherplease leave a message... 10:18, 22 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to restore Babar Azam's introduction to what it originally was over the recent years. One guy with name 'lchman" has recently removed many of his unique cricketing world records mentioned previously in his introduction and has also subsequently removed his due praise which was backed by stats. I have checked that user's profile and he has done the same with other prominent Pakistani cricketers as well. Therefore I request to restore his original introduction. The main changes I want to add are following:-

He is widely regarded as one of the finest batters in contemporary world cricket.[1][2][3][4] He is presently the only cricketer in the world to be in the top 5 rankings across all formats and is currently ranked as the number one batter in ODIs, fourth in T20I and fifth in Tests.[5] A right-handed top-order batter, he captains Peshawar Zalmi in the PSL.[6]

With 42 wins, he is the joint most successful T20I captain of all time.[7]
