Falling water drops...[edit]

An odd claim, given the shape of the car. Falling water drops are actually spherical...

Also, do we not have any specs for the car other than the quite extreme Cd claims? Engine power, speed, actual economy, weight, etc? And was there something fundamentally flawed with the design or the business' practices that underlies why we're not now driving their direct successors? 146.199.0.170 (talk) 21:04, 7 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Unsourced claim: "Persu inspired future iconic American car designs"[edit]

"Derivative car designs: The original design work of Aurel Persu inspired future iconic American car designs" - did it? So many other developments by others, Rumpler before him and several after. Without a reliable source it's just an empty claim. Arminden (talk) 14:44, 21 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Teardrop-shape: Persu vs Rumpler[edit]

Rumpler presented his Tropfenwagen already in 1921. Did Persu calculate, while Rumpler just went by instinct? Maybe the other way 'round, or maybe neither, as both were licensed engineers, with Rumpler quite an experienced one? Or rather:

  • Persu saw the Tropfenwagen in Berlin in 1921, while studying there airplane mechanics (see Romanian Patent Office source), and improved it by placing the wheels inside the body, maybe also by reshaping the back of the car to a more slender outline?

We need a good source, all else is the usual "my dwarf is taller than yours" silly contest. Arminden (talk) 14:52, 21 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

proof and source for drag coefficient values[edit]
