Qualification[edit]

This article says the quotas are allocated to the individual athletes rather than the NPCs. However, the reference link appears to say the exact opposite with any quotas going to the NPC. Which is correct? Drams707 (talk) 00:07, 12 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Qualification[edit]

According to the guidelines an athlete is only permitted to win a quota for their NPC in one event. If they finish in the top four in more than one event the additional quotas will be reallocated at a later date. This does not prevent an athlete from competing in more than one event at the Paralymoics provided they have the qualifying standard.

My point being that some athletes in this article are shown as having won more than one quota which is not possible. The content needs reviewing. Drams707 (talk) 09:36, 12 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

On Qualification and which berths are given[edit]

This is more of a question towards @Amnom Darius who has been editing the Qualification page.

How do you know which berth does an athlete take? For example, in the case of Joel de Jong (T63) who took gold on on Men's 100m and bronze on Men's Long Jump. Why is it that the berth used for him is the Long Jump instead of the 100m? MAX300 fan (talk) 15:30, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thank you very much for your question, the reason is because the athlete, for example Joel, he qualified and fulfilled the MES first in the 100 m event, because the event was held before the long jump, at the 2023 world championship, and also referring to the qualification documents, the same athlete cannot add an additional quotas for their NPC in other events, except if the HPA already being published Amnom Darius (talk) 01:41, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I think you got it the other way round, long jump was July 10th and 100m was July 17th.
So is it based on which event's final (on both 2023 and 2024 WPAC) is held first? MAX300 fan (talk) 02:52, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for that, long jump was held first, and that's why he got a quota in long jump, just a writing error in my comment, but the edit in this qualification page is correct Amnom Darius (talk) 02:58, 31 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
