Untitled[edit]

I think the current state of the software was not fully represented in the previous version of the article. I agree that 3.x is very different from 8.x up. I tried to break the article into the two sections, 3.x and 9.x. Maybe more text is needed to clarify the fact that they are still two very different versions. Perhaps you could help with this.

I removed the comparisons I made between the two versions. Dodgens 03:02, 15 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Recent edits[edit]

I'm assuming good faith here, but have suspicions that ESRI employees (maybe from the marketing and sales department) have been recently editing the ESRI article, and others about its products. For example, User:Esri was recently editing the ESRI article, in a POV manner. I've tried to clean up these edits and will be watching the articles. Anyone, including ESRI employees, are welcome to edit Wikipedia, but must keep in mind Wikipedia's policies, including Neutral point of view and Vanity guidelines. Rcc105 - Please don't quit editing ESRI-related articles. Rather, please help ensure the policies are adhered to. I hope it's just a matter of educating new editors on these policies. -Aude (talk | contribs) 21:08, 15 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:ArcViewGIS.png[edit]

Image:ArcViewGIS.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Windows 7 & 8 installation instructions[edit]

I cannot find any info on the ESRI forums. Can anyone point me to it?

"Windows 7 & 8 installation instructions It can be copied from an existing installation on a Windows XP machine to Vista, Windows 7 and 8 (search Esri Forums for Instructions)."
