Layout[edit]

This article needs drawings of the layout. Wizzy 10:04, 13 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Interestingly, I have just this. I bought a postcard of the layout (very good one actually) when I went to the house a year or two back, however I have refrained from uploading incase I infringe copyright. It's a very good and clear layout of the house (from a "cut-open" view), though if someone could clarify where I would stand in terms of uploading and copyright it'd be appreciated! Value of the house, please[edit]

I had always been under the impression that Anne Frank came from a poor family, but now that I see the home and the location, it must have always been worth a fortune. Must be many millions. Does anybody have a source for the value of the house today, or the value of similar buildings in the same central neighborhood. It seems obvious that only the very wealthiest would have enough money to buy an entire building in that central neighborhood. I'm stunned - I thought she was poor. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.105.67.66 (talk) 18:53, 9 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It wasnt actually her or her families house it was just where they ended up as a safe place because it was where her father worked. MilborneOne (talk) 18:59, 9 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
No, that doesn't appear to be true. Her father OWNED the entire business (it was a wholesaling business - one of TWO businesses he owned). Thus, her father owned the building (in addition to the apartment block where they normally lived). This family wasn't poor - it was RICH. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.105.67.66 (talk) 18:20, 10 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
A day ago you said the family were poor and now you have said they are rich but as this is not a forum it is not really relevant to this article. MilborneOne (talk) 18:29, 10 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
You don't want to have the value of the house put in the article? Why not? The family owned it. It must be north of US$10 million. I know in the U.S. and in the UK, there are websites that provide estimated values of houses/buildings. I am not interested in a forum - you inserted that idea. The value of the building is very relevant. I was previously under the impression that Anne Frank was poor. Apparently her family was rich - VERY rich. Again, why don't you want the value of the building in this article? Also, since you inserted a falsehood (that her father simply worked in the building), why don't you go away? What you are doing is not appreciated at Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.105.67.66 (talk) 19:10, 10 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Just to note I have left a warning on the IPs talk page about unacceptable behaviour, thanks. MilborneOne (talk) 20:27, 10 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You should not be posting falsehoods on Wikipedia - that is unacceptable behaviour. Thanks.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.105.67.66 (talk) 01:26, 11 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Apart from you, no one even said that the family was poor, so there is no need to prove otherwise. The fact that you thought they were poor is irrelevant.185.54.206.10 (talk) 23:41, 16 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Main photo[edit]

As the main photo for this article, I think a clear overview of the museum buildings should be given, something like this. Close-ups of the old canalside house, the annexe, and the modern museum building could then be used in the relevant sections. Especially, because some photos, like this one, are quite narrow and don't fit too well in the infobox. – Editør (talk) 13:40, 14 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
