Birth date[edit]

Her birth date is listed as "February 1757" while her sister is listed as August of the same year. That doesn't seem correct to me, a six month difference. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 167.181.12.117 (talk) 21:29, 18 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Did she visit New York or didn't she?[edit]

The "Early life" section says she left for Europe in 1783, "not to return to New York until 1797", but the subsequent sections reference visits to New York in 1785 and 1789 (Washington's first inauguration was held in New York). I'm assuming that the visits did occur and that the "not to return" line is incorrect, but does anyone know if it's the other way around? I wanted to check before fixing. Satisfied[edit]

@ScrapIronIV: I could see how the lack of a wikilink in Melissa Hastings' initial edit might lead you to think the song wasn't notable, but since that issue was subsequently addressed, I don't understand your repeated edit summary in your second revert. Could you clarify what the issue is? Ibadibam (talk) 18:14, 23 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I have self-reverted; I pulled up the tab hours earlier, and did not see the update. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. ScrpIronIV 18:44, 23 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I'm satisfied. Cheers! Ibadibam (talk) 19:50, 23 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

"Socialite"[edit]

I find it odd that a woman who was such a political and cultural force during post-Revolutionary America is described using the same term applied to the likes of the Kardashian sisters. Surely, we can find a better fit? Avocats (talk) 18:11, 27 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Avocats: I'd be open to another word, if you find one that's more apt. But there's nothing that strikes me as wrong about "socialite" as a description, even though modern-day socialites have few redeeming qualities. Compare the word "statesman": the meaning hasn't really changed, but many of today's so-called statesmen – especially those who live for publicity just as much as the Kardashians – are no match for the Founders as statesmen, to put it kindly. More siblings[edit]

Angelica had more younger siblings than Elizabeth Schuyler Hamilton, Margarita Schuyler Van Renssalaer and Philip Jeremiah Schuyler. 47.16.242.188 (talk) 14:12, 5 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
