Section in article on Notable concerts and events[edit]

As of August 2008, this section is just a listing of events that have been held in the arena. It even includes future events as if the simple scheduling of the event gives it notability. Many of the edits to add the events are being done by anonymous users; this gives the impression that the events are being added for promotional reasons. Wikipedia is not a place for advertising.

The section seems to be just a directory of events. By policy, Wikpedia is not a directory.

Second, the notability of these events with respect to the subject of the article is questionable. The simple fact that they were held in the arena does not make them notable, as the section header implies.

If this section is to remain in the article, it should discuss the notability of events with respect to the arena. Things like the first sold-out event, a concert filmed at the arena for release as a motion picture concert film (such as Jagged Little Pill, Live), or a concert which was part of a limited-tour with hard to obtain tickets (and how the arena handled the scalping). These types of events would receive the coverage in secondary sources needed to meet the criteria for notability.

As this section stands, it should be deleted from the article for these two reasons. - PennySpender1983 (talk) 21:54, 10 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Closed?[edit]

Infobox lists that it was closed on July 8 due to a fire. Really? Some fireworks caught a chair. It lasted three minutes. Not only is the arena not "closed", it wasn't even evacuated. 192.234.2.24 (talk) 00:09, 2 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
