Omega Xi Alpha merger info[edit]

See this UCSB page -- The article about the group that starts in column 2, though the information about the convention of Alpha Phi Gamma starting in Column 6 is interesting too.Naraht (talk) 23:09, 15 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

That was a big help even though the layout was horrible. How the heck did you find it. There were three articles that had info or provided a needed source. I also was able to create an article for Omega Xi Alpha because one article listed its founders and chapters. Rublamb (talk) 17:16, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
And for a journalism honorary, that's interesting. I went searching "Alpha Phi Gamma" with less common school names quite a bit looking for a complete chapter list (something better than the wierdness of trying to look through the pieces that the 1935 Baird's (the only one in the 20th century I don't own)) Not many are hits for both baldwin (from baldwin-wallace) and cotner and this one kept coming up regardless so, I was curious).Naraht (talk) 18:56, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
All these four groups (five with SCJ) that I have been working on all required their members to be on the campus newspaper staff for at least one year before joining. So it makes sense that its members wrote articles for their various newspapers. I am still finding more... Rublamb (talk) 19:13, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done...[edit]

Rublamb Still more to pull from the 1935. Also more info on the merging group Omega Xi Alpha at https://alexandria.ucsb.edu/downloads/9306sz819 . Not sure if you are still going...Naraht (talk) 13:12, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have run out of sources for now. Just had to clear up which college Baird's referenced. This is a unique case in that each edition of Baird's includes different chapters. It is great that you have a different edition to check. Rublamb (talk) 13:20, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
1935 is being checked by finding strings that are close to where the information that I want is in the book and seeing the wanted in the preview.Naraht (talk) 13:27, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Beta Phi Gamma[edit]

Alpha Phi Gamma sponsored Beta Phi Gamma a similar group at two year colleges (sort of like the Alpha Psi Omega/Delta Psi Omega relationship). I haven't been able to track down how independent they are, but something to keep an eye out for.Naraht (talk) 20:43, 17 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
