Albert Ramos Viñolas[edit]

Per WP:SELFIDENTITY, we have enough evidence from Ramos' Twitter account to move this article to Albert Ramos Viñolas. However, I have chosen not to bother going through with a move request at this stage as with Spanish names it seems to be the preferred style just to use paternal surnames for titling biographical articles. I'm not sure one source such as twitter qualifies as "enough evidence." At facebook he uses Albert Ramos. Do we have his signature sourced from some place? When we make a determination we usually use every scrap of personal data we can... facebook, twitter, instagram, signature, personal website, etc..., not just twitter. I would support a move to Albert Ramos-Viñolas. In general there seems to be a mixed picture with Spanish surnames regarding the use of only the paternal surname (Rafael Nadal) versus both paternal and maternal surnames (Arantxa Sánchez Vicario). That mixed picture can also be seen with Albert Ramos (as indicated above) but since the main official sources (ATP and ITF) use both surnames (hyphenated) it would be logical to follow their example. The maternal surname should include the diacritic as it is used in reliable English-language sources such as tennis.com and the ATP Media Guide (p. 149).--Wolbo (talk) 22:16, 23 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
