Ar Rayyan → Al Rayyan — The Qatari government called the place Al Rayyan Municipality and consist Al Wajba, Al Shakab, Al Rayyan, Maeedher, Al Ghorafa, Ein Khaled, Marrikh, al-Shahaniya, Al Khurayb, Al Nasraniya, Al Outouriya, Al Jamilya, Dukhan. Al-Rayyan is pronounced "Ar-Rayyan" in Arabic because R is a sun letter, but Al- is always written like this in English regardless of the Arabic pronunciation. --88.201.1.220 (talk) 00:17, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Distinguish municipality from town[edit]

This article is concerned with the municipality of Al Rayyan, but it mixes this up with information on the largest town in this municipality which has the same name: Al Rayyan (town) [or something like it]; see de:Ar-Rayyan with d:Q18576873 as opposed to the municipality d:Q311272. I will remove some information from the article that does not belong to the municipality (e. g. the twinning of the town of Al Rayyan); we need an article about the town, however. --Andropov (talk) 12:12, 21 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
