Untitled[edit]

As a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE), Roberts is recognized as inherently notable. I know from enough AFDs I have participated in. She is not merely the child of a notable person as the DBE is earned independently from the British monarch on the advice of the Prime Minister for contributions in any of many possible fields. It's true the article is a little thin, but it's not perfected yet. Thanks. Rms125a@hotmail.com (talk) 23:32, 19 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

next step is to find out what she was awarded this for, and to document it. Check if there was an obit in The Times -- if so, cite it--it unquestionably proves notability. DGG (talk) 00:02, 20 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

engagement[edit]

I found the article "A Forthcoming Marriage" about the engagement of Lady Roberts to Dr. Kendal Franks in January 1902, as well as some other contemporary newspaper stories. One somewhat tacky website says they were married in 1902, but I haven't found anything in reliable sources to support that, and several say she died unmarried.
