Budget & Box Office[edit]

The budget of this film is getting highly doubtful. Between 500cr, 600cr and 700cr. Box office numbers are also full of misinformation. The box office data that is provided in the news papers and Bollywood Hungama's numbers are contradictory. I'd like to request that admin look into these two topics. Sandip 19:24, 25 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately, there is no "official" or primary source for the budgets. I see a lot of news outlets reporting the budget as something between 450-500 crores, and an equal lot pointing to 700 crores (although most of the popular ones leaning towards the former). These are highly inflated figures anyways. I think we will have to mention both of them on the page, citing the sources of course. aggarwala2727 (talk) 13:56, 30 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
FYI have added a disputed template in front of the statement in the lead section for now. aggarwala2727 (talk) 14:06, 30 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Very good. It's been one week, and this section of this page is going through a heavy mess. The unnecessary editing war is running on. Kindly check this. An editor called "Johnbritto15" is creating an edit war, and his or her edits are not following the wiki standard. Sandip 10:29, 1 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have left a warning on his talk page. His edits seem to be clearly biased. aggarwala2727 (talk) 19:35, 4 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
my edits aren't biased, i may have been a tad aggressive in the edit messages but i have every single time requested for better citations for justifying an edit and never removed an edit without citing that. i have seen people say one media source can't be trusted and then paste another link from the same media source to justify another point - this inconsistency is what i want to address and i am ok with keeping the budget range because imo that is the way to go Johnbritto15 (talk) 21:02, 5 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I think pretty much everyone editing the budget is on an edit war, I do not think there is a need to single out people. I do think the budget will never have a consensus and so the range is good and there should be some sort of warning to prevent people from editing it They call me Kill Bill Pandey (talk) 04:53, 5 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
jayanthkumar keeps deleting references that cite the budget as 700 cr. there are equal number of citations pointing towards both budgets. both should exist on the budget, not just one Johnbritto15 (talk) 02:32, 10 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Adipurush box office[edit]

T-Series have already announced in 26th June 2023, that Adipurush have already made 450 crores at the box office. Eventhough, the movie still flopped at the box office , but the numbers don't lie.Thank you Kishandevpillai9472 (talk) 20:21, 26 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The page uses unprofessional language and the Hindi words do not follow the IAST conventions. This can be seen especially under the Controversies heading. They need to be fixed, either by me or anyone else who can write English in a formal manner as well as correctly convert Devanagari to IAST transliteration. I only intend to fix the grammar, and not add or remove any content. Pur 0 0 (talk) 14:42, 4 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The Hindi text in the Controversies section needs to be changed according to Wikipedia's IAST transliteration guideline. The following text must be changed accordingly

Current transliteration: jalegi tere baap ki

Correct transliteration: jalegī tere bāpa kī

Current transliteration: teri bua ka bageecha hai kya

Correct transliteration: terī buā kā bagīcā hai kyā

Current transliteration: Lanka laga denge

Correct transliteration: Laṃkā lagā deṃge

Current transliteration: Bharat ki beti

Correct transliteration: Bhārata kī beṭī

Current transliteration: Humare yahan daadiyan, naniyan jab Ramayan ki kathaye sunati thi, jo isi bhaasha mein sunaati thi. Yeh dialogue jiska aapne zikar kiya, yeh iss desh ke sant, bade bade katha vachak aisi hi bolte hai jaise maine likha hai

Correct transliteration: Hamāre yahāṁ dādiyāṁ, nāniyāṁ jaba rāmāyaṇa kī kathāeṃ sunātī thīṃ, jo isī bhāṣā meṃ sunātī thīṃ. Ye ḍāyalŏga jisakā āpane zikra kiyā, ye isa deśa ke saṃta, baṛe-baṛe kathāvācaka aise hī bolate haiṃ jaise maiṃne likhā hai.

Current transliteration: aajkal yeh chal raha hai

Correct transliteration: ājakala yaha cala rahā hai

Current transliteration: Bajrang bali bhagwaan nahi hai, bhakt hai. Humne unko bhagwaan banaya hai kyuki unki bhakti mein woh power tha

Correct transliteration: Bajaraṃga Bali bhagavāna nahīṃ haiṃ, bhakta haiṃ. Hamane unako bhagavāna banāyā hai kyoṃki unakī bhakti meṃ vo pāvara thā.

Other than this, in the last paragraph of the Dialogues section where the interview with Vivek Agnihotri is written, there's an unnecessary line break.

Under the Allahabad High Court section, it says, "The Court also noted that all the characters of Ramayana, who are worshipped by the people are largely shown in a pathetic way. When the Court questioned as to what made the CBFC pass such a film and that it committed a blunder by certifying such a film."

Instead of this, it can be rewritten as, "The court also noted that all the central figures of Ramayana, revered by several devotees in the country, are portrayed in a questionable manner. The court questioned the Central Board of Film Certification's decision to approve such a film, stating that it was a blunder to do so." Pur 0 0 (talk) 15:22, 19 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I missed one more, from the backtracking section:
Current transliteration: Humne Ramayan nahi banayi hai. Hum Ramayan se prerit hai
Correct transliteration: Hamane Rāmāyaṇa nahīṃ banāī hai. Hama Rāmāyaṇa se prerita haiṃ. Pur 0 0 (talk) 15:31, 19 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Done, except for a verbatim quote. Several unnecessary foreign-language texts were removed outright. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 23:11, 16 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

paragraph is not neutral[edit]

Per WP:NPOV, the first paragraph in the dialogue controversy should be changed as it is clearly not written from a neutral pov. Here is the section concerned- "as the whole story of the film has destroyed and modified every aspect of the core values of the characters, their language and each authentic event." As I am not an extended confirmed user I request for someone else to make this change. Jazzy Jazz Jr (talk) 13:41, 8 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
